And he took the mantle of Elijah that had fallen from him, and struck the waters, and said, Where is Jehovah, the God of Elijah, even He? And he also hit the waters, and they parted here and there. And Elisha went over.


Let darkness and the shadow of death claim it. Let a cloud dwell upon it; Let the blackness of the day terrify it.


But none says, Where is God my Maker, who gives songs in the night;


Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.


I have thought on the days of old, the years of ages past.


I am Jehovah your God, who has brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.


In all their affliction He was afflicted, and the Angel of His Presence saved them; in His love and in His pity He redeemed them; and He bore them, and carried them all the days of old.


And there is no one who calls on Your name, who stirs up himself to take hold of You. For You have hidden Your face from us, and have melted us away because of our iniquities.


Give glory to Jehovah your God, before He causes darkness, and before your feet stumble on the dark mountains, and, while you look for light, He turns it into the shadow of death, setting up deep gloom.


Go and cry in the ears of Jerusalem, saying, So says Jehovah, I remember you, the kindness of your youth, the love of your betrothals, when you went after Me in the wilderness, in a land not sown.


The priests did not say, Where is Jehovah? And they who handle the Law did not know Me; the shepherds also rebelled against Me, and the prophets prophesied by Baal, and walked after things not profitable.


They have lied against Jehovah and said, It is not He; neither shall evil come on us; nor shall we see sword nor famine.


And though they say, As Jehovah lives; surely they swear falsely.


Her cities are a desert, a dry land and a wilderness, a land in which no man dwells, nor does any son of man pass by it.


And by a prophet Jehovah brought Israel out of Egypt, and by a prophet he was kept safe.


Yet I am Jehovah your God from the land of Egypt, and you shall know no God but Me. For there is no Savior besides Me.


Also I brought you up from the land of Egypt and led you forty years through the wilderness to possess the land of the Amorite.


The people who sat in darkness saw a great Light; and Light has sprung up to those who sat in the region and shadow of death."


And when we pulled up stakes from Horeb, we went through all that great and terrible wilderness which you saw by the way of the mountain of the Amorites, as Jehovah our God commanded us. And we came to Kadesh-barnea.


He found him in a desert land, and in the deserted, howling wilderness. He led him about, He cared for him, He kept him as the pupil of His eye.


And you shall remember all the way which Jehovah your God led you these forty years in the wilderness in order to humble you, to prove you, to know what is in your heart, whether you would keep His commandments or not.


And Gideon said to Him, O, my Lord, if Jehovah is with us, why then has all this happened to us? And where are all His miracles which our fathers told us of, saying, Did not Jehovah bring us up from Egypt? But now Jehovah has forsaken us, and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites.
