who justify the wicked for a bribe, and take away the righteousness of the righteous from him!


He was oppressed, and He was afflicted; yet He opened not His mouth. He is brought as a lamb to the slaughter; and as a sheep before its shearers is dumb, so He opened not His mouth.


But when the vinedressers saw the son, they said among themselves, This is the heir. Come, let us kill him, and get hold of his inheritance.


But the chief priests and elders persuaded the crowd that they should ask for Barabbas and destroy Jesus.


But I say to you, Do not resist evil. But whoever shall strike you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also.


And he said, The God of our fathers has chosen you to know His will and to see the Just One, and to hear a voice out of His mouth.


Which of the prophets did your fathers not persecute? And they killed those who foretold the coming of the Just One, of whom you have now been the betrayers and murderers;


And the content of the Scripture which he read was this: "He was led as a sheep to the slaughter, and like a lamb dumb before his shearer, so He opened not His mouth.


Now, "the Just shall live by faith. But if he draws back, My soul shall have no pleasure in him."


But you dishonored the poor one. Do not rich men oppress you and draw you before the judgment seats?


You desire, and do not have. You murder, and are jealous, and cannot obtain. You fight and war, yet you have not because you ask not.


And if the righteous one is scarcely saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?
