And there was a famine in the days of David three years, year after year. And David inquired of Jehovah. And Jehovah answered, For Saul, and for his bloody house, because he killed the Gibeonites.


And the channels of the sea appeared, the foundations of the world were uncovered, at the rebuking of Jehovah, at the blast of the breath of His nostrils.


Behold, I will send a blast on him, and he shall hear a rumor and shall return to his own land. And I will cause him to fall by the sword in his own land.


I will say to God, Do not condemn me; make me know why You contend with me.


There is one who scatters and yet increases; but one who withholds just due comes only to poverty.


Hell and destruction are never full; so the eyes of man are never satisfied.


All things are full of labor; man cannot utter it; the eye is not satisfied with seeing, nor the ear filled with hearing.


The grass withers, the flower fades, because the Spirit of Jehovah blows on it; surely the people is grass.


Yea, ten acres of vineyard shall yield one bath, and the seed of a homer shall yield an ephah.


They have sown wheat, but shall reap thorns. They are worn out, but they do not profit. And they shall be ashamed of your harvests because of the fierce anger of Jehovah.


And I will pour out My disgust on you; with the fire of My wrath I will blow against you, and give you into the hand of burning men, able to destroy.


And in the fifth year you shall eat of the fruit of it, so that it may yield to you its increase. I am Jehovah your God.


Is it time for you yourselves to dwell in your finished houses, and shall this House lie waste?


you have sown much and bring in little; you eat, but you do not have enough; you drink, but you are not filled with drink; you dress, but no one is warm; and he who hires out himself hires himself for a bag full of holes.


If you will not hear, and if you will not set it on your heart to give glory to My name, says Jehovah of Hosts, then I will send a curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings. And indeed I have cursed it, because you do not set it on your heart.


You shall carry much seed out into the field, and shall gather little in, for the locust shall eat it.


But I have against you that you left your first love.


As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten; therefore be zealous and repent.
