8 And he moved from there to a mountain on the east of Bethel. And he pitched his tent with Bethel toward the sea and Hai on the east. And he built an altar there to Jehovah, and called upon the name of Jehovah.

And Abram moved his tent and came and lived in the oaks of Mamre, which is in Hebron. And he built an altar to Jehovah there.


And he went on his journeys from the south, even to Bethel, to the place where his tent had been from the beginning, between Bethel and Hai,


to the place of the altar which he had made there at the first. And Abram called on the name of Jehovah there.


And Abraham planted a tree in Beer-sheba, and called there on the name of Jehovah, the everlasting God.


And they came to the place which God had told him of. And Abraham built an altar there and laid the wood in order. And he bound his son Isaac and laid him on the altar, on the wood.

So Joshua and all the people of war arose to go up against Ai. And Joshua chose out thirty thousand men, mighty warriors, and sent them away by night.


Then Joshua built an altar to Jehovah, the God of Israel in Mount Ebal,


And Joshua sent them out. And they went to lie in ambush, and stayed between Bethel and Ai, on the west side of Ai. But Joshua stayed that night among the people.


Then Gideon built an altar there to Jehovah, and called it Jehovah-shalom. It is yet in Ophrah of the Abiezrites to this day.
