when you were but few, even a few, and strangers in it,


when they were a few men in number; yea, very few, and strangers in it.


seed of His servant Abraham, sons of Jacob His chosen.


Not to us, O Jehovah, not to us, but to Your name give glory, for Your mercy and for Your truth's sake.


For they did not get the land in possession by their own sword, neither did their own arm save them; but it was Your right hand, and Your arm, and the light of Your face, because You favored them.


Look to Abraham your father, and to Sarah who bore you; for I called him alone, and blessed him, and increased him.


In all their affliction He was afflicted, and the Angel of His Presence saved them; in His love and in His pity He redeemed them; and He bore them, and carried them all the days of old.


And say to them, So says the Lord Jehovah: In the day that I chose Israel, and lifted up My hand to the seed of the house of Jacob, and made Myself known to them in the land of Egypt; when I lifted up My hand to them, saying, I am Jehovah your God;


Therefore say to the house of Israel, So says the Lord Jehovah: I do not do this for your sake, O house of Israel, but for My holy name's sake, which you have profaned among the nations where you went.


Because narrow is the gate and constricted is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.


Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.


But if by grace, then it is no more of works; otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it is of works, then it is no more of grace; otherwise work is no more work.


Therefore He has mercy on whom He will have mercy, and whom He will, He hardens.


Does not the potter have power over the clay, from the same lump to make one vessel to honor and another to dishonor?


Jehovah your God has multiplied you, and, behold, today you are as the stars of heaven for multitude.


Your fathers went down into Egypt with seventy persons. And now Jehovah your God has made you as the stars of the heavens for multitude.


For you are a holy people to Jehovah your God, and Jehovah has chosen you to be a peculiar people to Himself, above all the nations that are on the earth.


And because He loved your fathers, therefore He chose their seed after them, and brought you out in His sight with His mighty power out of Egypt,


Behold what manner of love the Father has given us, that we should be called children of God. Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.


In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation concerning our sins.
