Do not rejoice when your enemy falls, and do not let your heart be glad when he stumbles;


Oh that my head were waters, and my eyes a fountain of tears, that I might weep day and night for the slain of the daughter of my people!


who drink wine in bowls, and anoint themselves with the best of oils; nor do they grieve for the breaking of Joseph!


But I say to you, Love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who despitefully use you and persecute you,


Who is weak, and I am not weak? Who is caused to stumble, and I do not burn?


And finally, all be of one mind, having compassion on one another, loving the brothers, tenderhearted, friendly.


And they took their bones and buried them under the tamarisk tree at Jabesh. And they fasted seven days.


And Saul died, and his three sons, and his armor-bearer, and all his men, that same day together.
