Laziness throws one into a deep sleep, and an idle soul shall suffer hunger.


And that sown into the thorns is this: he who hears the Word; and the anxiety of this world, and the deceit of riches, choke the Word, and he becomes unfruitful.


And he went out about the third hour and saw others standing idle in the marketplace.


And about the eleventh hour he went out and found others standing idle, and said to them, Why do you stand here all day idle?


His lord answered and said to him, Evil and slothful servant! You knew that I reaped where I did not sow, and gathered where I did not scatter,


Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away. And every one that bears fruit, He prunes it so that it may bring forth more fruit.


And this is life eternal, that they might know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.


But I know you, that you do not have the love of God in you.


As to diligence, not slothful, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord;


So that, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not without fruit in the Lord.


examine yourselves, whether you are in the faith, prove your own selves. Do you not know your own selves, that Jesus Christ is in you, unless you are reprobates?


that in much testing of trouble, the overflowing of their joy, and the depth of their poverty, abounded to the riches of their generosity.


But even as you abound in everything, in faith, and in word, and in knowledge, and in all earnestness, and in your love to us; you should abound in this grace also.


and in their prayer for you, who long after you, because of the exceeding grace of God on you.


And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in full knowledge and in all perception;


For let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus,


But no, rather, I also count all things to be loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them to be dung, so that I may win Christ


that you might walk worthy of the Lord to all pleasing, being fruitful in every work and increasing in the knowledge of God,


rooted and built up in Him, and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.


Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.


And may the Lord make you to increase and abound in love toward one another and toward all, even as we also toward you,


For the rest, then, my brothers, we beseech you and exhort you in the Lord Jesus, that, as you have received from us how you ought to walk and to please God, so you would abound more and more.


We are bound to thank God always for you, my brothers, as it is right, because your faith grows exceedingly, and the love of each one of you abounds toward one another;


And with it all they also learn to be idle, going around the houses; and not only idle, but tattlers also and busybodies, speaking things they ought not.


And let ours also learn to maintain good works for necessary uses, so that they may not be unfruitful.


that the fellowship of your faith may operate in a full knowledge of every good thing in you in Christ Jesus.


that you be not slothful, but imitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.


Grace and peace be multiplied to you through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord,


according as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who has called us to glory and virtue,


For if they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the full knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and are again entangled, they have been overcome by these, their last things are worse than the first.


But grow in grace and in knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory, both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.
