And Barzillai was a very aged man, eighty years old. And he had provided food for the king while he abode at Mahanaim, for he was a very great man.


And they sought out a beautiful girl throughout all the borders of Israel, and found Abishag, a Shunammite. And they brought her to the king.


And the boy grew, and the day came that he went out to his father to the reapers.


And his possessions were seven thousand sheep and three thousand camels, and five hundred yoke of oxen, and five hundred she asses, and a very great household, so that this man was the greatest of all the men of the east.


It is not the great that are wise, nor the aged who understand judgment.


With her much fair speech she caused him to yield, with the flattering of her lips she forced him.


And likewise he who had received two, he also gained another two.


For he shall be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall neither drink wine nor strong drink. And he shall be filled with the Holy Spirit, even from his mother's womb.


And the lord said to the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges and compel them to come in, so that my house may be filled.


But they constrained Him, saying, Stay with us, for it is toward evening and the day is far spent. And He went in to stay with them.


And when she was baptized, she and her household, she begged us, saying, If you have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come into my house and stay. And she constrained us.


And their border was toward Jezreel, and Chesulloth, and Shunem,


And the old man said, Peace be with you. Yet all that you lack shall be on me. Only do not stay in the street.


And the Philistines gathered themselves and came and pitched in Shunem. And Saul gathered all Israel and they pitched in Gilboa.
