And Sarah saw the son of Hagar the Egyptian (whom she had borne to Abraham) mocking.


And it happened as they went on and talked, behold, a chariot of fire and horses of fire came, and they separated between them both. And Elijah went up in a tempest into Heaven.


And Elijah said to Elisha, Please stay here, for Jehovah has sent me to Bethel. And Elisha said, As Jehovah lives, and as your soul lives, I will not leave you. So they went down to Bethel.


And the waters were healed to this day, according to the saying of Elisha which he spoke.


But they mocked the messengers of God and despised His words, and ill-treated His prophets until the wrath of Jehovah arose against His people, until there was no healing.


Even young children despise me; I arise, and they speak against me.


But now those younger laugh at me, whose fathers I would have refused to set with the dogs of my flock.


Let me not be ashamed, O Jehovah; for I have called on You; Let the wicked be ashamed; let them be silent in the grave.


Let the lying lips be put to silence; the lips which speak proudly against the righteous, with pride and scorn.


But in my stumbling they rejoiced, and gathered themselves; the defamers gathered themselves against me, and I knew not; they tore and were not silent,


Even a child is known by his own doings, whether his work is pure and whether it is right.


Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; the rod of correction shall drive it far from him.


Train up a child in the way he should go; and when he is old, he will not depart from it.


Therefore remove vexation from your heart, and put away evil from your flesh; for childhood and prime of life are vanity.


Woe, sinful nation, a people heavy with iniquity, a seed of evildoers, sons who corrupt! They have forsaken Jehovah; they have provoked the Holy One of Israel to anger; they have gone away backward.


And the people shall be crushed, every man by another, and every man by his neighbor; the boy shall act proudly against the old man, and the low against the honorable.


O Jehovah, You have deceived me, and I was deceived. You are stronger than I, and You have prevailed. I am in derision all the day; everyone laughs at me.


For whenever I speak, I cry out, I cry violence and ruin; for the Word of Jehovah has been a reproach and a cause of mocking to me all day.


The sons gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead dough, to make cakes to the queen of heaven and to pour out drink offerings to other gods, that they may provoke Me to anger.


So He does to you, Bethel, because of your great evil. In a morning the king of Israel shall be utterly cut off.


Because of the calves of Beth-aven, the people of Samaria shall dread. For its people shall mourn over it, and its priest rejoiced on it for its glory, because it has departed from it.


Though you, Israel, fornicate, yet do not let Judah become guilty. And do not come to Gilgal, nor go up to Beth-aven, nor swear, As Jehovah lives.


And when a man's head grows bald; he is bald. He is clean.


for in the day that I shall visit the transgressions of Israel on him, I will also visit the altars of Bethel. And the horns of the altar shall be cut off and shall fall to the ground.


Come to Bethel and transgress; to Gilgal and multiply transgressing at Gilgal. And bring your sacrifices for the morning, your tithes for three years;


But do not seek Bethel nor enter into Gilgal, and do not pass to Beer-sheba; for Gilgal shall surely go into exile, and Bethel shall come to nothing.


But do not prophesy again any more at Bethel; for it is the king's temple, and it is the king's royal house.


But then even as he born according to flesh persecuted him born according to the Spirit, so it is also now.


And others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings; yes, more, of bonds and imprisonments.
