Come, listen to me, my sons; I will teach you the fear of Jehovah.


Who is the man that desires life, and loves days, that he may see good?


And it happened on the next day, Moses said to the people, You have sinned a great sin. And now I will go up to Jehovah. Perhaps I shall make an atonement for your sin.


I have taught you in the way of wisdom; I have led you in the right paths.


The preacher sought to find out pleasing words; and words of truth written by the upright.


And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, This is the way, walk in it, when you turn to the right hand and when you turn to the left.


Then Jehovah said to me, Though Moses and Samuel stood before Me, My soul could not be toward this people. Send them out of My sight, and let them go out.


But if they are prophets, and if the Word of Jehovah is with them, let them now pray to Jehovah of Hosts, that the vessels which are left in the house of Jehovah, and in the house of the king of Judah, and at Jerusalem, may not go to Babylon.

night and day praying exceedingly for me to see your face and to perfect the things lacking in your faith?


I thank God, whom I serve from my forefathers with pure conscience, that without ceasing I remember you in my prayers night and day,


And all the people said to Samuel, Pray for your servants to Jehovah your God, so that we will not die. For we have added evil to all our sins, to ask a king for us.


But the thing was evil in the eyes of Samuel, when they said, Give us a king to judge us. And Samuel prayed to Jehovah.
