14 If you are reviled for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of God and of glory rests on you. Truly according to them, He is blasphemed, but according to you He is glorified.

Happy are your men, happy are these who are your servants, who stand always before you, and who hear your wisdom.


And when the sons of the prophets across in Jericho saw him, they said, The spirit of Elijah rests upon Elisha! And they came to meet him and bowed to the ground before him.


Blessed is he who has the God of Jacob for his help, whose help is in Jehovah his God,


yea, he shall yet live forever; he shall never see corruption.


with which Your enemies have cursed, O Jehovah; with which they have cursed the footsteps of Your anointed.


And the Spirit of Jehovah shall rest on Him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of Jehovah.


He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord Jehovah will wipe away tears from all faces. And He shall take away from all the earth the rebuke of His people. For Jehovah has spoken.


Listen to me, you who know righteousness, the people in whose heart is My Law; do not fear the reproach of men, nor be afraid of their revilings.


Blessed are you when men shall revile you and persecute you, and shall say all kinds of evil against you falsely, for My sake.


Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in Heaven.


Blessed are you when men shall hate you, and when they shall cut you off, and when they shall reproach you and shall cast out your name as evil, for the sake of the Son of Man.


But all these things they will do to you for My name's sake, because they do not know Him who sent Me.

But we think it right to hear from you what you think. For truly as concerning this sect, it is known to us that it is spoken against everywhere.


Then indeed they departed from the presence of the sanhedrin, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to be shamed for His name.


Therefore I am pleased in weaknesses, in insults, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake; for when I am weak, then I am powerful.

For this cause we do not faint; but though our outward man perishes, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day.


esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt, for he was looking to the reward.


Blessed is the man who endures temptation, because having been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.


Behold, we count blessed those who endure. You have heard of the patience of Job, and you have seen the end of the Lord, that the Lord is full of pity and of tender mercy.


having your conduct honest among the nations, in that which they speak against you as evildoers, they may glorify God in a day of His visitation, seeing your good works.


But if you also suffer for righteousness' sake, you are blessed. And do not fear their fear, nor be troubled,


having a good conscience, that while they speak against you as evildoers they may be shamed, those falsely accusing your good behavior in Christ.


But if one suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God because of this.


And many will follow their pernicious ways, and because of them the way of truth will be evil spoken of.
