And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.


These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God.


Thy righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, And thy law is the truth.


Thou art near, O LORD; And all thy commandments are truth.


The mouth of the righteous speaketh wisdom, And his tongue talketh of judgment.


Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright: For the end of that man is peace.


That thou mayest regard discretion, And that thy lips may keep knowledge.


But if they had stood in my counsel, and had caused my people to hear my words, then they should have turned them from their evil way, and from the evil of their doings.


And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.


My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

And of Levi he said, Let thy Thummim and thy Urim be with thy holy one, Whom thou didst prove at Massah, And with whom thou didst strive at the waters of Meribah;


Who said unto his father and to his mother, I have not seen him; Neither did he acknowledge his brethren, Nor knew his own children: For they have observed thy word, And kept thy covenant.


And in their mouth was found no guile: for they are without fault before the throne of God.


Now the sons of Eli were sons of Belial; they knew not the LORD.
