Wherefore hidest thou thy face, And holdest me for thine enemy?


He teareth me in his wrath, who hateth me: He gnasheth upon me with his teeth; Mine enemy sharpeneth his eyes upon me.


Which doeth great things and unsearchable; Marvellous things without number:


I reckoned till morning, that, as a lion, so will he break all my bones: From day even to night wilt thou make an end of me.


Wherefore a lion out of the forest shall slay them, and a wolf of the evenings shall spoil them, a leopard shall watch over their cities: every one that goeth out thence shall be torn in pieces: because their transgressions are many, and their backslidings are increased.


He was unto me as a bear lying in wait, And as a lion in secret places.


For I will be unto Ephraim as a lion, and as a young lion to the house of Judah: I, even I, will tear and go away; I will take away, and none shall rescue him.
