Neither say they in their heart, Let us now fear the LORD our God, that giveth rain, both the former and the latter, in his season: he reserveth unto us the appointed weeks of the harvest.


Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the LORD: his going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth.


Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the LORD your God: for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month.


Ask ye of the LORD rain in the time of the latter rain; so the LORD shall make bright clouds, and give them showers of rain, to every one grass in the field.


For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.


Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.


For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.


Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.


I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?


And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.


But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.


Jesus saith unto him, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee? follow thou me.


Then went this saying abroad among the brethren, that that disciple should not die: yet Jesus said not unto him, He shall not die; but, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee?


For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.


to them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:


so that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ:


For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.


And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.


that I will give you the rain of your land in his due season, the first rain and the latter rain, that thou mayest gather in thy corn, and thy wine, and thine oil.


strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness;


remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father;


For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? Are not even ye in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at his coming?


to the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints.


And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.


Speak not evil one of another, brethren. He that speaketh evil of his brother, and judgeth his brother, speaketh evil of the law, and judgeth the law: but if thou judge the law, thou art not a doer of the law, but a judge.


Take, my brethren, the prophets, who have spoken in the name of the Lord, for an example of suffering affliction, and of patience.


Your gold and silver is cankered; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. Ye have heaped treasure together for the last days.


and saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
