lest thou learn his ways, and get a snare to thy soul.


Therefore thou hast forsaken thy people the house of Jacob, because they be replenished from the east, and are soothsayers like the Philistines, and they please themselves in the children of strangers.


E´phra-im, he hath mixed himself among the people; E´phra-im is a cake not turned.


Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.


Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump?


take heed to thyself that thou be not snared by following them, after that they be destroyed from before thee; and that thou inquire not after their gods, saying, How did these nations serve their gods? even so will I do likewise.


As for the Jeb´usites the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the children of Judah could not drive them out: but the Jeb´usites dwell with the children of Judah at Jerusalem unto this day.


And the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord, and forgat the Lord their God, and served Ba´alim and the groves.
