So Rab–sha´keh returned, and found the king of Assyria warring against Libnah: for he had heard that he was departed from Lachish.


Yet Edom revolted from under the hand of Judah unto this day. Then Libnah revolted at the same time.


So the Edomites revolted from under the hand of Judah unto this day. The same time also did Libnah revolt from under his hand; because he had forsaken the Lord God of his fathers.


So Rab–sha´keh returned, and found the king of Assyria warring against Libnah: for he had heard that he was departed from Lachish.


Zedeki´ah was one and twenty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Hamu´tal the daughter of Jeremiah of Libnah.


And they departed from Rim´mon–pa´rez, and pitched in Libnah.


And that day Joshua took Makke´dah, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and the king thereof he utterly destroyed, them, and all the souls that were therein; he let none remain: and he did to the king of Makke´dah as he did unto the king of Jericho.

And they utterly destroyed all that was in the city, both man and woman, young and old, and ox, and sheep, and ass, with the edge of the sword.


and thou shalt do to A´i and her king as thou didst unto Jericho and her king: only the spoil thereof, and the cattle thereof, shall ye take for a prey unto yourselves: lay thee an ambush for the city behind it.


And the king of A´i he hanged on a tree until eventide: and as soon as the sun was down, Joshua commanded that they should take his carcass down from the tree, and cast it at the entering of the gate of the city, and raise thereon a great heap of stones, that remaineth unto this day.
