And all men shall fear, and shall declare the work of God; for they shall wisely consider of his doing.


Declare his glory among the heathen, his wonders among all people.


Confounded be all they that serve graven images, that boast themselves of idols: worship him, all ye gods.


And in that day shall ye say, Praise the Lord, call upon his name, declare his doings among the people, make mention that his name is exalted.


Lift ye up a banner upon the high mountain, exalt the voice unto them, shake the hand, that they may go into the gates of the nobles.


and, behold, here cometh a chariot of men, with a couple of horsemen. And he answered and said, Babylon is fallen, is fallen; and all the graven images of her gods he hath broken unto the ground.


and have cast their gods into the fire: for they were no gods, but the work of men's hands, wood and stone: therefore they have destroyed them.


At that time Mer´odach–bal´adan, the son of Bal´adan, king of Babylon, sent letters and a present to Hezeki´ah: for he had heard that he had been sick, and was recovered.


Bel boweth down, Nebo stoopeth; their idols were upon the beasts, and upon the cattle: your carriages were heavy laden; they are a burden to the weary beast.


Go ye forth of Babylon, flee ye from the Chalde´ans, with a voice of singing declare ye, tell this, utter it even to the end of the earth; say ye, The Lord hath redeemed his servant Jacob.


Thou hast heard, see all this; and will not ye declare it? I have showed thee new things from this time, even hidden things, and thou didst not know them.


Thus shall ye say unto them, The gods that have not made the heavens and the earth, even they shall perish from the earth, and from under these heavens.


They are vanity, and the work of errors: in the time of their visitation they shall perish.


Hear the word of the Lord, O ye nations, and declare it in the isles afar off, and say, He that scattered Israel will gather him, and keep him, as a shepherd doth his flock.


Make ye mention to the nations; behold, publish against Jerusalem, that watchers come from a far country, and give out their voice against the cities of Judah.


Set up the standard toward Zion: retire, stay not; for I will bring evil from the north, and a great destruction.


Declare ye in Egypt, and publish in Migdol, and publish in Noph and in Tah´panhes: say ye, Stand fast, and prepare thee; for the sword shall devour round about thee.


At the noise of the taking of Babylon the earth is moved, and the cry is heard among the nations.


Set up the standard upon the walls of Babylon, make the watch strong, set up the watchmen, prepare the ambushes: for the Lord hath both devised and done that which he spake against the inhabitants of Babylon.


Set ye up a standard in the land, blow the trumpet among the nations, prepare the nations against her, call together against her the kingdoms of Ar´arat, Minni, and Ash´kenaz; appoint a captain against her; cause the horses to come up as the rough caterpillars.


One post shall run to meet another, and one messenger to meet another, to show the king of Babylon that his city is taken at one end,


And I will punish Bel in Babylon, and I will bring forth out of his mouth that which he hath swallowed up: and the nations shall not flow together any more unto him; yea, the wall of Babylon shall fall.


Therefore, behold, the days come, that I will do judgment upon the graven images of Babylon: and her whole land shall be confounded, and all her slain shall fall in the midst of her.


Wherefore, behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will do judgment upon her graven images: and through all her land the wounded shall groan.


Babylon is suddenly fallen and destroyed: howl for her; take balm for her pain, if so be she may be healed.


And it came to pass in the seven and thirtieth year of the captivity of Jehoi´achin king of Judah, in the twelfth month, in the five and twentieth day of the month, that Evil–mer´odach king of Babylon, in the first year of his reign, lifted up the head of Jehoi´achin king of Judah, and brought him forth out of prison,


Therefore hear, ye nations, and know, O congregation, what is among them.


And the Lord gave Jehoi´akim king of Judah into his hand, with part of the vessels of the house of God: which he carried into the land of Shinar to the house of his god; and he brought the vessels into the treasure house of his god.


Nebuchadnez´zar spake and said unto them, Is it true, O Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed´nego? do not ye serve my gods, nor worship the golden image which I have set up?


The Lord will be terrible unto them: for he will famish all the gods of the earth; and men shall worship him, every one from his place, even all the isles of the heathen.


And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.
