And she went, and sat her down over against him a good way off, as it were a bowshot: for she said, Let me not see the death of the child. And she sat over against him, and lifted up her voice, and wept.


And the people thirsted there for water; and the people murmured against Moses, and said, Wherefore is this that thou hast brought us up out of Egypt, to kill us and our children and our cattle with thirst?


he is gone up to Bajith, and to Dibon, the high places, to weep: Moab shall howl over Nebo, and over Me´deba: on all their heads shall be baldness, and every beard cut off.


Come down, and sit in the dust, O virgin daughter of Babylon, sit on the ground: there is no throne, O daughter of the Chalde´ans: for thou shalt no more be called tender and delicate.


Therefore my people are gone into captivity, because they have no knowledge: and their honorable men are famished, and their multitude dried up with thirst.


and upon Dibon, and upon Nebo, and upon Beth–diblatha´im,


And now she is planted in the wilderness, in a dry and thirsty ground.


We have shot at them; Heshbon is perished even unto Dibon, and we have laid them waste even unto Nophah, which reacheth unto Me´deba.

Heshbon, and all her cities that are in the plain; Dibon, and Ba´moth–ba´al, and Beth–ba´al–me´on,


from Aro´er, that is upon the bank of the river Arnon, and the city that is in the midst of the river, and all the plain of Me´deba unto Dibon;


And he was sore athirst, and called on the Lord, and said, Thou hast given this great deliverance into the hand of thy servant: and now shall I die for thirst, and fall into the hand of the uncircumcised?
