and told him, saying, Joseph is yet alive, and he is governor over all the land of Egypt. And Jacob's heart fainted, for he believed them not.


And Eli´jah took the child, and brought him down out of the chamber into the house, and delivered him unto his mother: and Eli´jah said, See, thy son liveth.


Therefore said he, Take it up to thee. And he put out his hand, and took it.


The blessing of him that was ready to perish came upon me: and I caused the widow's heart to sing for joy.


the Lord preserveth the strangers; he relieveth the fatherless and widow: but the way of the wicked he turneth upside down.


And he came and took her by the hand, and lifted her up; and immediately the fever left her, and she ministered unto them.


Now when he came nigh to the gate of the city, behold, there was a dead man carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow: and much people of the city was with her.


And he that was dead sat up, and began to speak. And he delivered him to his mother.


And they brought the young man alive, and were not a little comforted.


And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.


And in those days, when the number of the disciples was multiplied, there arose a murmuring of the Grecians against the Hebrews, because their widows were neglected in the daily ministration.


Then Anani´as answered, Lord, I have heard by many of this man, how much evil he hath done to thy saints at Jerusalem:


And it came to pass, as Peter passed throughout all quarters, he came down also to the saints which dwelt at Lydda.


Honor widows that are widows indeed.


Now she that is a widow indeed, and desolate, trusteth in God, and continueth in supplications and prayers night and day.
