Then Abim´elech called Abraham, and said unto him, What hast thou done unto us? and what have I offended thee, that thou hast brought on me and on my kingdom a great sin? thou hast done deeds unto me that ought not to be done.


Wherefore the Lord said unto Solomon, Forasmuch as this is done of thee, and thou hast not kept my covenant and my statutes, which I have commanded thee, I will surely rend the kingdom from thee, and will give it to thy servant.


and he said to Jerobo´am, Take thee ten pieces: for thus saith the Lord, the God of Israel, Behold, I will rend the kingdom out of the hand of Solomon, and will give ten tribes to thee:


And this thing became sin unto the house of Jerobo´am, even to cut it off, and to destroy it from off the face of the earth.


And he shall give Israel up because of the sins of Jerobo´am, who did sin, and who made Israel to sin.


and rent the kingdom away from the house of David, and gave it thee: and yet thou hast not been as my servant David, who kept my commandments, and who followed me with all his heart, to do that only which was right in mine eyes;


For the children of Israel walked in all the sins of Jerobo´am which he did; they departed not from them;


Nevertheless he cleaved unto the sins of Jerobo´am the son of Nebat, which made Israel to sin; he departed not therefrom.


And he fortified the strongholds, and put captains in them, and store of victuals, and of oil and wine.


and he ordained him priests for the high places, and for the devils, and for the calves which he had made.


For thy name's sake, O Lord, pardon mine iniquity; for it is great.


And Moses said unto Aaron, What did this people unto thee, that thou hast brought so great a sin upon them?


The Lord shall bring upon thee, and upon thy people, and upon thy father's house, days that have not come, from the day that E´phra-im departed from Judah; even the king of Assyria.


Jesus answered, Thou couldest have no power at all against me, except it were given thee from above: therefore he that delivered me unto thee hath the greater sin.


Wherefore the sin of the young men was very great before the Lord: for men abhorred the offering of the Lord.


Nay, my sons; for it is no good report that I hear: ye make the Lord's people to transgress.
