that Hadad fled, he and certain Edomites of his father's servants with him, to go into Egypt; Hadad being yet a little child.


And then he built chambers against all the house, five cubits high: and they rested on the house with timber of cedar.


The door for the middle chamber was in the right side of the house: and they went up with winding stairs into the middle chamber, and out of the middle into the third.


Seven years old was Jeho´ash when he began to reign.


And he was with her hid in the house of the Lord six years. And Athali´ah did reign over the land.


In the seventh year of Jehu, Jeho´ash began to reign; and forty years reigned he in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Zibi´ah of Beer–sheba.


And in the fifth year of Joram the son of Ahab king of Israel, Jehosh´aphat being then king of Judah, Jeho´ram the son of Jehosh´aphat king of Judah began to reign.


Yet the Lord would not destroy Judah for David his servant's sake, as he promised him to give him always a light, and to his children.


Joram his son, Ahazi´ah his son, Jo´ash his son,


But Jehosh´abeath, the daughter of the king, took Jo´ash the son of Ahazi´ah, and stole him from among the king's sons that were slain, and put him and his nurse in a bedchamber. So Jehosh´abeath, the daughter of king Jeho´ram, the wife of Jehoi´ada the priest, (for she was the sister of Ahazi´ah,) hid him from Athali´ah, so that she slew him not.


and the river shall bring forth frogs abundantly, which shall go up and come into thine house, and into thy bedchamber, and upon thy bed, and into the house of thy servants, and upon thy people, and into thine ovens, and into thy kneadingtroughs:


There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the Lord.


For I will defend this city to save it for mine own sake, and for my servant David's sake.


For thus saith the Lord; David shall never want a man to sit upon the throne of the house of Israel;


then may also my covenant be broken with David my servant, that he should not have a son to reign upon his throne; and with the Levites the priests, my ministers.


then will I cast away the seed of Jacob, and David my servant, so that I will not take any of his seed to be rulers over the seed of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob: for I will cause their captivity to return, and have mercy on them.


Go unto the house of the Rech´abites, and speak unto them, and bring them into the house of the Lord, into one of the chambers, and give them wine to drink.


But the king commanded Jerah´meel the son of Ham´melech, and Serai´ah the son of Az´ri-el, and Shelemi´ah the son of Ab´deel, to take Baruch the scribe and Jeremiah the prophet: but the Lord hid them.


And he said unto me, This chamber, whose prospect is toward the south, is for the priests, the keepers of the charge of the house.


And he went unto his father's house at Ophrah, and slew his brethren the sons of Jerubba´al, being threescore and ten persons, upon one stone: notwithstanding, yet Jotham the youngest son of Jerubba´al was left; for he hid himself.
