I know also, my God, that thou triest the heart, and hast pleasure in uprightness. As for me, in the uprightness of mine heart I have willingly offered all these things: and now have I seen with joy thy people, which are present here, to offer willingly unto thee.


And Phin´ehas the son of Ele-a´zar was the ruler over them in time past, and the Lord was with him.


For Hezeki´ah king of Judah did give to the congregation a thousand bullocks and seven thousand sheep; and the princes gave to the congregation a thousand bullocks and ten thousand sheep: and a great number of priests sanctified themselves.


And Jehi´el, and Azazi´ah, and Nahath, and As´ahel, and Jer´imoth, and Joz´abad, and El´i-el, and Ismachi´ah, and Mahath, and Benai´ah, were overseers under the hand of Conani´ah and Shim´e-i his brother, at the commandment of Hezeki´ah the king, and Azari´ah the ruler of the house of God.


And when they came to Hilki´ah the high priest, they delivered the money that was brought into the house of God, which the Levites that kept the doors had gathered of the hand of Manas´seh and E´phra-im, and of all the remnant of Israel, and of all Judah and Benjamin; and they returned to Jerusalem.


And Josi´ah gave to the people, of the flocks, lambs and kids, all for the passover offerings, for all that were present, to the number of thirty thousand, and three thousand bullocks: these were of the king's substance.


And all they that were about them strengthened their hands with vessels of silver, with gold, with goods, and with beasts, and with precious things, besides all that was willingly offered.

Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.
