and let us bring again the ark of our God to us: for we inquired not at it in the days of Saul.


Lo, we heard of it at Eph´ratah: we found it in the fields of the wood.


Depart ye, depart ye, go ye out from thence, touch no unclean thing; go ye out of the midst of her; be ye clean, that bear the vessels of the Lord.


And the border was drawn thence, and compassed the corner of the sea southward, from the hill that lieth before Beth–ho´ron southward; and the goings out thereof were at Kir´jath–ba´al, which is Kir´jath–je´arim, a city of the children of Judah: this was the west quarter.


And the children of Israel journeyed, and came unto their cities on the third day. Now their cities were Gibeon, and Chephi´rah, and Beer´oth, and Kir´jath–je´arim.


And they sent messengers to the inhabitants of Kir´jath–je´arim, saying, The Philistines have brought again the ark of the Lord; come ye down, and fetch it up to you.


And it came to pass, while the ark abode in Kir´jath–je´arim, that the time was long; for it was twenty years: and all the house of Israel lamented after the Lord.
