For by thee I have run through a troop; and by my God have I leaped over a wall.


What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?


The Lord shall cause thine enemies that rise up against thee to be smitten before thy face: they shall come out against thee one way, and flee before thee seven ways.


How should one chase a thousand, and two put ten thousand to flight, except their Rock had sold them, and the Lord had shut them up?


quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens.


One man of you shall chase a thousand: for the Lord your God, he it is that fighteth for you, as he hath promised you.


Then he called hastily unto the young man his armor-bearer, and said unto him, Draw thy sword, and slay me, that men say not of me, A woman slew him. And his young man thrust him through, and he died.


And the men of the garrison answered Jonathan and his armor-bearer, and said, Come up to us, and we will show you a thing. And Jonathan said unto his armor-bearer, Come up after me: for the Lord hath delivered them into the hand of Israel.


And that first slaughter, which Jonathan and his armor-bearer made, was about twenty men, within as it were a half acre of land, which a yoke of oxen might plow.
