And he gave a sign the same day, saying, This is the sign which the Lord hath spoken; Behold, the altar shall be rent, and the ashes that are upon it shall be poured out.


And it came to pass, when king Jerobo´am heard the saying of the man of God, which had cried against the altar in Beth–el, that he put forth his hand from the altar, saying, Lay hold on him. And his hand, which he put forth against him, dried up, so that he could not pull it in again to him.


And the king answered and said unto the man of God, Entreat now the face of the Lord thy God, and pray for me, that my hand may be restored me again. And the man of God besought the Lord, and the king's hand was restored him again, and became as it was before.


And the barrel of meal wasted not, neither did the cruse of oil fail, according to the word of the Lord, which he spake by Eli´jah.


And Micai´ah said, If thou return at all in peace, the Lord hath not spoken by me. And he said, Hearken, O people, every one of you.


And the battle increased that day: and the king was stayed up in his chariot against the Syrians, and died at even: and the blood ran out of the wound into the midst of the chariot.


That, in the day that I shall visit the transgressions of Israel upon him, I will also visit the altars of Beth–el: and the horns of the altar shall be cut off, and fall to the ground.


And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.
