I will be his father, and he shall be my son. If he commit iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men, and with the stripes of the children of men:


The Lord hath chastened me sore: but he hath not given me over unto death.


Why should ye be stricken any more? ye will revolt more and more: the whole head is sick, and the whole heart faint.


But thou shalt say unto them, This is a nation that obeyeth not the voice of the Lord their God, nor receiveth correction: truth is perished, and is cut off from their mouth.


She obeyed not the voice; she received not correction; she trusted not in the Lord; she drew not near to her God.


Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.


And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offenses unto justification.


Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?


For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.


For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.


For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.


Wherefore, my brethren, when ye come together to eat, tarry one for another.


Thou shalt also consider in thine heart, that, as a man chasteneth his son, so the Lord thy God chasteneth thee.


of whom is Hymene´us and Alexander; whom I have delivered unto Satan, that they may learn not to blaspheme.


And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness.


As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.
