And now hear this, thou living delicately, dwelling securely, saying in her heart, I, and none besides me; I shall not sit a widow, and I shall not know bereavement


And these two shall come to thee suddenly, in one day, bereavement and widowhood: as finished they came upon thee, in the multitude of thy sorceries, and in the great numbers of thy enchantments.


For this, O harlot, hear the word of Jehovah:


And the light of the lamp no more should shine in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride, should no more be heard in thee: for thy wholesale merchants were leaders of the earth: for with thy charms were all nations led astray.


And weep for her, and lament over her, shall the kings of the earth having been debauched with her, and having led an insolent life, when they see the smoke of her burning,
