And Abram shall be the son of ninety years and nine years: Jehovah shall be seen to Abram and will say to him, I am God Almighty; walk thou before me, and be complete.


These the generations of Noah; a just man, and was complete in his generations: Noah walked with God.


A man as in the land of Uz, Job his name; and that man was blameless and upright, and fearing God, and departing from evil.


Watch the blameless, and see the upright one, for the latter state to the man peace.


Then said Jesus to his disciples, If any wish to come after me, let him deny himself absolutely, and lift up his cross, and follow me.


The young man says to him, All these have I watched from my youth; what yet do I want?


And the young man having heard the word, departed, being grieved: for he was holding many possessions.


And Jesus said to them, Verily I say to you, That ye having followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man should sit upon the throne of his glory, shall be seated ye also upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.


And he says to them, Come after me, and I will make you the fishermen of men.


Therefore, be ye perfected, as your Father which is in the heavens is perfected.


But Jesus said to him, Follow me; and let the dead inter the dead.


And Jesus, passing away from thence, saw a man sitting by the custom-house, being called Matthew, and he says to him, Follow me; and having risen he followed him.


And Jesus having looked upon him, loved him, and said to him, One thing is wanting to thee retire; whatever thou hast, sell, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me, having taken up the cross.


And passing by, he saw Levi, him of Alpheus, sitting by the customhouse, and he says to him, Follow me. And having risen, he followed him.


And having called the crowd with his disciples, he said to them, Whoever wills to come after me, let him absolutely deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.


Sell your possessions, and give alms; make to yourselves purses not growing old, an inexhaustible treasure in the heavens, where the thief approaches not, nor moth corrupts.


So then, every one of you, who renounces not all of his possessions, cannot be my disciple.


And I say to you, Make to yourselves friends of the mammon of injustice; that, when ye fail, they might receive you into lasting tents.


And Jesus having heard these, said to him, Yet one thing fails thee: all whatever thou hast, sell and distribute to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me.


And after these, he went out, and saw a publican, by name Levi, sitting by the custom-house; and he said to him, Follow me.


For the learner is not above his teacher: and every one set in order shall be as his teacher.


And he said to all, If any one wish to come after me, let him deny himself, and lift up his cross daily and let him follow me.


My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.


If any one would serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there also shall be my servant: and if any one serve me, him will the Father honour.


And sold possessions and goods, and divided them to all, as any one had need


For ye also suffered together with me in bonds, and received the pillage of your possessions with joy, knowing to have in yourselves a better and abiding substance in the heavens.
