And thou, wilt thou seek great things to thyself? thou shalt not seek: for behold me bringing evil upon all flesh, says Jehovah: and I gave to thee thy soul for a booty to all the places where thou shalt go there.


For what is a man profited, if he should gain the whole world, and injure his soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?


For this I say to you, Be not anxious about your soul, what ye eat, and what ye drink; nor about your body, what ye put on. Is not the soul more than food, and the body than dress?


Then let those in Judea flee to the mountain; and those in the midst of her withdraw; and let those in the countries not go into her.
