A sword upon the Chaldeans, says Jehovah, and to the inhabitants of Babel and to her chiefs, and to her wise.


And the basins and the fire-pans and the vases and the pots and the chandeliers, and the dishes and the cups, which were of gold, gold, and which of silver, silver, the chief of the cooks took.

At that time Daniel came in before the king. The king answered and said to Daniel, Is it thou, Daniel, which is from the sons of the captivity of Judah, whom the king my father brought from Judah?


Thou, O king, God most high gave a kingdom and greatness and honor and splendor to Nebuchadnezzar thy father:


And against the Lord of the heavens thou didst lift up thyself; and for the vessels of his house they brought before thee, and thou and thy nobles, and thy wives, and thy concubines, drinking wine in them; and to the gods of silver and gold, brass, iron, wood, and stone, who see not, and hear not, and know not, thou didst praise: and to the God whom thy breath in his hand, and all thy ways to him, thou didst not honor.


At that time they brought the vessels of gold that were brought forth from the temple of the house of God which was in Jerusalem; and in them they drank, the king and his nobles, his wives and his concubines.


In that night Belshazzar king of the Chaldeans was killed.


They drank wine, and praised to the gods of gold and silver, brass, iron, wood and stone.


His offering one silver dish, thirty- and one hundred its weight; one silver vase, seventy shekels, according to the holy shekel; they two full of fine flour mingled with oil for a gift:
