It may be that the LORD will look on the wrong done to me, and that the LORD will requite me good for [his] cursing of me this day.


For I will defend this city to save it, for my own sake, and for my servant David's sake.


In his days Par`oh-Nekho king of Egypt went up against the king of Ashur to the river Perat: and king Yoshiyahu went against him; and [Par`oh-Nekho] killed him at Megiddo, when he had seen him.


In his days Nevukhadnetzar 1 king of Bavel came up, and Yehoiakim became his servant three years: then he turned and rebelled against him.


The angel of the LORD encamps round about those who fear him, and delivers them.


He will judge the poor of the people. He will save the children of the needy, and will break the oppressor in pieces.


The LORD said, *I have surely seen the affliction of my people who are in Egypt, and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters, for I know their sorrows.


Now, behold, the cry of the children of Yisra'el has come to me. Moreover I have seen the oppression with which the Egyptians oppress them.


Don't be afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it comes:


In that day, this song will be sung in the land of Yehudah: *We have a strong city. God appoints salvation for walls and bulwarks.


As birds hovering, so the LORD of Armies will protect Yerushalayim. He will protect and deliver it. He will pass over and preserve it.*


The LORD will create over the whole habitation of Mount Tziyon, and over her assemblies, a cloud and smoke by day, and the shining of a flaming fire by night; for over all the glory will be a canopy.


Awake, awake, put on your strength, Tziyon; put on your beautiful garments, Yerushalayim, the holy city: for henceforth there shall no more come into you the uncircumcised and the unclean.


For you shall not go out in haste, neither shall you go by flight: for the LORD will go before you; and the God of Yisra'el will be your rearward.


In righteousness shall you be established: you shall be far from oppression, for you shall not be afraid; and from terror, for it shall not come near you.


Violence shall no more be heard in your land, desolation nor destruction within your borders; but you shall call your walls Salvation, and your gates Praise.


They shall come and sing in the height of Tziyon, and shall flow to the goodness of the LORD, to the grain, and to the new wine, and to the oil, and to the young of the flock and of the herd: and their soul shall be as a watered garden; and they shall not sorrow any more at all.


The word that the LORD spoke to Yirmeyahu the prophet, how that Nevukhadnetzar 1 king of Bavel should come and strike the land of Egypt.


Of Egypt: concerning the army of Par`oh-Nekho king of Egypt, which was by the river Perat in Karkemish, which Nevukhadnetzar 1 king of Bavel struck in the fourth year of Yehoiakim the son of Yoshiyahu, king of Yehudah.


neither will I hide my face any more from them; for I have poured out my Spirit on the house of Yisra'el, says the Lord GOD.


I will plant them on their land, and they will no more be plucked up out of their land which I have given them,* says the LORD your God.


In that day,* says the LORD, *I will strike every horse with terror, and his rider with madness; and I will open my eyes on the house of Yehudah, and will strike every horse of the peoples with blindness.


In that day the LORD will defend the inhabitants of Yerushalayim. He who is feeble among them at that day will be like David, and the house of David will be like God, like the angel of the LORD before them.


Men will dwell therein, and there will be no more curse; but Yerushalayim will dwell safely.


I will take away his blood out of his mouth, and his abominations from between his teeth; and he also will be a remnant for our God; and he will be as a chieftain in Yehudah, and `Ekron as a Yevusi.


I have surely seen the affliction of my people that is in Egypt, and have heard their groaning. I have come down to deliver them. Now come, I will send you into Egypt.'


They went up over the breadth of the earth, and surrounded the camp of the holy ones, and the beloved city. Fire came down out of heaven from God, and devoured them.
