After all that is come on us for our evil deeds, and for our great guilt, seeing that you our God have punished us less than our iniquities deserve, and have given us such a remnant,


When he gives quietness, who then can condemn? When he hides his face, who then can see him? Alike whether to a nation, or to a man,


Notwithstanding my right I am considered a liar. My wound is incurable, though I am without disobedience.'


Fools are afflicted because of their disobedience, and because of their iniquities.


From the sole of the foot even to the head there is no soundness in it: wounds, welts, and open sores. They haven't been closed, neither bandaged, neither soothed with oil.


He dug it up, gathered out its stones, planted it with the choicest vine, built a tower in its midst, and also cut out a winepress therein. He looked for it to yield grapes, but it yielded wild grapes.


For according to the number of your cities are your gods, Yehudah; and according to the number of the streets of Yerushalayim have you set up altars to the shameful thing, even altars to burn incense to Ba`al.

For thus says the LORD, Your hurt is incurable, and your wound grievous.


All your lovers have forgotten you; they don't seek you: for I have wounded you with the wound of an enemy, with the chastisement of a cruel one, for the greatness of your iniquity, because your sins were increased.


Therefore all those who devour you shall be devoured; and all your adversaries, everyone of them, shall go into captivity; and those who despoil you shall be a spoil, and all who prey on you will I give for a prey.


For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says the LORD; because they have called you an outcast, [saying], It is Tziyon, whom no man seeks after.


Go up into Gil`ad, and take balm, virgin daughter of Egypt: in vain do you use many medicines; there is no healing for you.


For from the least of them even to the greatest of them everyone is given to covetousness; and from the prophet even to the Kohen everyone deals falsely.


Her adversaries are become the head, her enemies prosper; for the LORD has afflicted her for the multitude of her transgressions: her young children are gone into captivity before the adversary.


What shall I testify to you? what shall I liken to you, daughter of Yerushalayim? What shall I compare to you, that I may comfort you, virgin daughter of Tziyon? For your breach is great like the sea: who can heal you?


Why does a living man complain, a man for the punishment of his sins?


[It is] because of the sins of her prophets, [and] the iniquities of her Kohanim, That have shed the blood of the just in the midst of her.


For her wounds are incurable; for it has come even to Yehudah. It reaches to the gate of my people, even to Yerushalayim.


I will bear the indignation of the LORD, because I have sinned against him, until he pleads my case, and executes judgment for me. He will bring me forth to the light. I will see his righteousness.


There is no healing your wound, for your injury is fatal. All who hear the report of you clap their hands over you; for who hasn't felt your endless cruelty?
