'You have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles' wings, and brought you to myself.


You shall tell Par`oh, 'Thus says the LORD, Yisra'el is my son, my firstborn,


and I have said to you, *Let my son go, that he may serve me;* and you have refused to let him go. Behold, I will kill your son, your firstborn.'*


Since you have been precious and honored in my sight, and I have loved you; therefore I will give people in your place, and nations instead of your life.


I have forsaken my house, I have cast off my heritage; I have given the dearly beloved of my soul into the hand of her enemies.


Go, and cry in the ears of Yerushalayim, saying, Thus says the LORD, I remember for you the kindness of your youth, the love of your weddings; how you went after me in the wilderness, in a land that was not sown.


In all your abominations and your prostitution you have not remembered the days of your youth, when you were naked and bare, and was weltering in your blood.


When I passed by you, and saw you weltering in your blood, I said to you, [Though you are] in your blood, live; yes, I said to you, [Though you are] in your blood, live.


So Beit-El will do to you because of your great wickedness. At daybreak the king of Yisra'el will be destroyed.


By a prophet the LORD brought Yisra'el up out of Egypt, and by a prophet he was preserved.


*But I am the LORD your God from the land of Egypt. I will yet again make you dwell in tents, as in the days of the solemn feast.


*Yet I am the LORD your God from the land of Egypt; and you shall acknowledge no god but me, and besides me there is no savior.


I will give her vineyards from there, and the valley of `Akhor for a door of hope; and she will respond there, as in the days of her youth, and as in the day when she came up out of the land of Egypt.


*I have loved you,* says the LORD. Yet you say, *How have you loved us?* *Wasn't Esav Ya`akov's brother?* says the LORD, *Yet I loved Ya`akov;


and was there until the death of Herod; that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying, *Out of Egypt I called my son.*


Yes, he loves the people. All his holy ones are in your hand. They sat down at your feet; [Everyone] shall receive of your words.


The LORD didn't set his love on you, nor choose you, because you were more in number than any people; for you were the fewest of all peoples:
