But now the LORD has spoken, saying, *Within three years, as a worker bound by contract would count them, the glory of Mo'av shall be brought into contempt, with all his great multitude; and the remnant will be very small and feeble.*


Therefore a battle roar will arise among your people, and all your fortresses will be destroyed, as Shalman destroyed Beit-Arbel in the day of battle. The mother was dashed in pieces with her children.


Surely now they will say, *We have no king; for we don't fear the LORD; and the king, what can he do for us?*


The inhabitants of Shomron will be in terror for the calves of Beit-Aven; for its people will mourn over it, Along with its Kohanim who rejoiced over it, for its glory, because it has departed from it.


Shomron and her king float away, like a twig on the water.


*When Yisra'el was a child, then I loved him, and called my son out of Egypt.


Did then that which is good become death to me? May it never be! But sin, that it might be shown to be sin, by working death to me through that which is good; that through the mitzvah sin might become exceeding sinful.
