The border of the Kena`anim was from Tzidon, as you go toward Gerar, to `Aza; as you go toward Sedom, `Amorah, Admah, and Tzevoyim, to Lasha.


Avram traveled, going on still toward the South.


Avram went up out of Egypt: he, his wife, all that he had, and Lot with him, into the South.


They returned, and came to En Mishpat (the same is Kadesh), and struck all the country of the `Amaleki, and also the Amori, that lived in Chatzatzon-Tamar.


Now Sarai, Avram's wife, bore him no children. She had a handmaid, an Egyptian, whose name was Hagar.


Therefore the well was called Be'er-Lachai-Ro'i. Behold, it is between Kadesh and Bered.


The angel of the LORD found her by a fountain of water in the wilderness, by the fountain in the way to Shur.


The LORD appeared to him by the oaks of Mamre, as he sat in the tent door in the heat of the day.


Avraham lived as a foreigner in the land of the Pelishtim many days.


Yitzchak came from the way of Be'er-Lachai-Ro'i, for he lived in the land of the South.


They lived from Chavilah to Shur that is before Egypt, as you go toward Ashur. He lived opposite all his relatives.


There was a famine in the land, besides the first famine that was in the days of Avraham. Yitzchak went to Avimelekh king of the Pelishtim, to Gerar.


The herdsmen of Gerar argued with Yitzchak's herdsmen, saying, *The water is ours.* He called the name of the well `Esek, because they contended with him.


Then Avimelekh went to him from Gerar, and Achuzzat his friend, and Pikhol the captain of his army.


The LORD's voice shakes the wilderness. The LORD shakes the wilderness of Kadesh.


Moshe led Yisra'el onward from the Sea of Suf, and they went out into the wilderness of Shur; and they went three days in the wilderness, and found no water.


They went and came to Moshe, and to Aharon, and to all the congregation of the children of Yisra'el, to the wilderness of Paran, to Kadesh; and brought back word to them, and to all the congregation, and shown them the fruit of the land.


and when we cried to the LORD, he heard our voice, and sent an angel, and brought us forth out of Egypt: and behold, we are in Kadesh, a city in the uttermost of your border.


We traveled from Chorev, and went through all that great and terrible wilderness which you saw, by the way to the hill country of the Amori, as the LORD our God commanded us; and we came to Kadesh-Barnea.


because you trespassed against me in the midst of the children of Yisra'el at the waters of Merivah of Kadesh, in the wilderness of Tzin; because you didn't sanctify me in the midst of the children of Yisra'el.


Sha'ul struck the `Amaleki, from Chavilah as you go to Shur, that is before Egypt.
