They left their gods there; and David gave mitzvah, and they were burned with fire.


Who struck the firstborn of Egypt, both of man and animal;


I said, *You are gods, all of you are sons of the Elyon.


A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; but it will not come near you.


For the LORD is a great God, a great King above all gods.


For the LORD will pass through to strike the Egyptians; and when he sees the blood on the lintel, and on the two doorposts, the LORD will pass over the door, and will not allow the destroyer to come in to your houses to strike you.


Now I know that the LORD is greater than all gods because of the thing in which they dealt arrogantly against them.*


then his master shall bring him to God, and shall bring him to the door or to the doorpost, and his master shall bore his ear through with an awl, and he shall serve him for ever.


*You shall not blaspheme God, nor curse a ruler of your people.


God spoke to Moshe, and said to him, *I am the LORD;


The LORD did that thing on the next day; and all the livestock of Egypt died, but of the livestock of the children of Yisra'el, not one died.


The burden of Egypt: *Behold, the LORD rides on a swift cloud, and comes to Egypt. The idols of Egypt will tremble at his presence; and the heart of Egypt will melt in its midst.


I will kindle a fire in the houses of the gods of Egypt; and he shall burn them, and carry them away captive: and he shall array himself with the land of Egypt, as a shepherd puts on his garment; and he shall go forth from there in shalom.


He shall also break the pillars of Beit-Shemesh, that is in the land of Egypt; and the houses of the gods of Egypt shall he burn with fire.


The LORD of Armies, the God of Yisra'el, says: Behold, I will punish Amon of No, and Par`oh, and Egypt, with her gods, and her kings; even Par`oh, and those who trust in him:


But I will leave a few men of them from the sword, from the famine, and from the pestilence; that they may declare all their abominations among the nations where they come; and they shall know that I am the LORD.


In all vineyards there will be wailing; for I will pass through the midst of you,* says the LORD.


The LORD will be awesome to them, for he will famish all the gods of the land. Men will worship him, everyone from his place, even all the shores of the nations.


while the Egyptians were burying all their firstborn, whom the LORD had struck among them: on their gods also the LORD executed judgments.


When they of Ashdod arose early on the next day, behold, Dagon was fallen on his face to the ground before the ark of the LORD. They took Dagon, and set him in his place again.


Therefore you shall make images of your tumors, and images of your mice that mar the land; and you shall give glory to the God of Yisra'el: peradventure he will lighten his hand from off you, and from off your gods, and from off your land.
