The longer you argue, the more useless it is, and you are no better off.


but the worries about this life, the love for riches, and all other kinds of desires crowd in and choke the message, and they don't bear fruit.


As Jesus and his disciples went on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha welcomed him in her home.


Martha was upset over all the work she had to do, so she came and said, “Lord, don't you care that my sister has left me to do all the work by myself? Tell her to come and help me!”


Then Jesus said to the disciples, “And so I tell you not to worry about the food you need to stay alive or about the clothes you need for your body.


“Be careful not to let yourselves become occupied with too much feasting and drinking and with the worries of this life, or that Day may suddenly catch you


The seeds that fell among thorn bushes stand for those who hear; but the worries and riches and pleasures of this life crowd in and choke them, and their fruit never ripens.


A man named Lazarus, who lived in Bethany, became sick. Bethany was the town where Mary and her sister Martha lived. (


Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus.


They prepared a dinner for him there, which Martha helped serve; Lazarus was one of those who were sitting at the table with Jesus.


Don't worry about anything, but in all your prayers ask God for what you need, always asking him with a thankful heart.
