If a man fathers a hundred children and lives many years, so that the days of his years are many, but his soul is not satisfied with life’s good things, and he also has no burial, I say that a stillborn child is better off than he.


Ah, you destroyer, who yourself have not been destroyed, you traitor, whom none has betrayed! When you have ceased to destroy, you will be destroyed; and when you have finished betraying, they will betray you.


And the dead bodies of this people will be food for the birds of the air, and for the beasts of the earth, and none will frighten them away.


For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you.

But after the three and a half days a breath of life from God entered them, and they stood up on their feet, and great fear fell on those who saw them.

And they sang a new song, saying, “Worthy are you to take the scroll and to open its seals, for you were slain, and by your blood you ransomed people for God from every tribe and language and people and nation,
