Then our mouth was filled with laughter, and our tongue with shouts of joy; then they said among the nations, “The Lord has done great things for them.”


who in your midst, O Egypt, sent signs and wonders against Pharaoh and all his servants;


the sun to rule over the day, for his steadfast love endures forever;


Praise him, sun and moon, praise him, all you shining stars!


which comes out like a bridegroom leaving his chamber, and, like a strong man, runs its course with joy.


Ask of me, and I will make the nations your heritage, and the ends of the earth your possession.


the meadows clothe themselves with flocks, the valleys deck themselves with grain, they shout and sing together for joy.

And at that hour there was a great earthquake, and a tenth of the city fell. Seven thousand people were killed in the earthquake, and the rest were terrified and gave glory to the God of heaven.
