Blessed be the Lord from Zion, he who dwells in Jerusalem! Praise the Lord!


By the waters of Babylon, there we sat down and wept, when we remembered Zion.


The Lord will reign forever, your God, O Zion, to all generations. Praise the Lord!


Let Israel be glad in his Maker; let the children of Zion rejoice in their King!


I hate those who pay regard to worthless idols, but I trust in the Lord.


Ah, sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, offspring of evildoers, children who deal corruptly! They have forsaken the Lord, they have despised the Holy One of Israel, they are utterly estranged.


Shout, and sing for joy, O inhabitant of Zion, for great in your midst is the Holy One of Israel.”


They come from a distant land, from the end of the heavens, the Lord and the weapons of his indignation, to destroy the whole land.


For the Lord is our judge; the Lord is our lawgiver; the Lord is our king; he will save us.


Then Isaiah the prophet came to King Hezekiah, and said to him, “What did these men say? And from where did they come to you?” Hezekiah said, “They have come to me from a far country, from Babylon.”


Awake, awake, put on your strength, O Zion; put on your beautiful garments, O Jerusalem, the holy city; for there shall no more come into you the uncircumcised and the unclean.


They are worthless, a work of delusion; at the time of their punishment they shall perish.


Have you utterly rejected Judah? Does your soul loathe Zion? Why have you struck us down so that there is no healing for us? We looked for peace, but no good came; for a time of healing, but behold, terror.


Why should you be like a man confused, like a mighty warrior who cannot save? Yet you, O Lord, are in the midst of us, and we are called by your name; do not leave us.”


Thus says the Lord: “What wrong did your fathers find in me that they went far from me, and went after worthlessness, and became worthless?


For it is a lie that they are prophesying to you, with the result that you will be removed far from your land, and I will drive you out, and you will perish.


For there shall be a day when watchmen will call in the hill country of Ephraim: ‘Arise, and let us go up to Zion, to the Lord our God.’”


For the children of Israel and the children of Judah have done nothing but evil in my sight from their youth. The children of Israel have done nothing but provoke me to anger by the work of their hands, declares the Lord.


Is it I whom they provoke? declares the Lord. Is it not themselves, to their own shame?


“The harvest is past, the summer is ended, and we are not saved.”


I will scatter them among the nations whom neither they nor their fathers have known, and I will send the sword after them, until I have consumed them.”


The circumference of the city shall be 18,000 cubits. And the name of the city from that time on shall be, The Lord Is There.”


And it shall come to pass that everyone who calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved. For in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there shall be those who escape, as the Lord has said, and among the survivors shall be those whom the Lord calls.


I will avenge their blood, blood I have not avenged, for the Lord dwells in Zion.”


But in Mount Zion there shall be those who escape, and it shall be holy, and the house of Jacob shall possess their own possessions.


Now why do you cry aloud? Is there no king in you? Has your counselor perished, that pain seized you like a woman in labor?


The Lord has taken away the judgments against you; he has cleared away your enemies. The King of Israel, the Lord, is in your midst; you shall never again fear evil.


“Behold, I will shake my hand over them, and they shall become plunder for those who served them. Then you will know that the Lord of hosts has sent me.


“Men, why are you doing these things? We also are men, of like nature with you, and we bring you good news, that you should turn from these vain things to a living God, who made the heaven and the earth and the sea and all that is in them.


Then my anger will be kindled against them in that day, and I will forsake them and hide my face from them, and they will be devoured. And many evils and troubles will come upon them, so that they will say in that day, ‘Have not these evils come upon us because our God is not among us?’


“To the angel of the church in Ephesus write: ‘The words of him who holds the seven stars in his right hand, who walks among the seven golden lampstands.
