He pours contempt on princes and loosens the belt of the strong.


the God who equipped me with strength and made my way blameless.


There will be bare places by the Nile, on the brink of the Nile, and all that is sown by the Nile will be parched, will be driven away, and will be no more.


He has stretched out his hand over the sea; he has shaken the kingdoms; the Lord has given command concerning Canaan to destroy its strongholds.


Wail, O ships of Tarshish, for your stronghold is laid waste.


The Lord of hosts has purposed it, to defile the pompous pride of all glory, to dishonor all the honored of the earth.


From the daughter of Zion all her majesty has departed. Her princes have become like deer that find no pasture; they fled without strength before the pursuer.


Now the coastlands tremble on the day of your fall, and the coastlands that are on the sea are dismayed at your passing.’


and to overthrow the throne of kingdoms. I am about to destroy the strength of the kingdoms of the nations, and overthrow the chariots and their riders. And the horses and their riders shall go down, every one by the sword of his brother.


For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly.
