Now Mesha king of Moab was a sheep breeder, and he had to deliver to the king of Israel 100,000 lambs and the wool of 100,000 rams.


Like a sparrow in its flitting, like a swallow in its flying, a curse that is causeless does not alight.

Moab is put to shame, for it is broken; wail and cry! Tell it beside the Arnon, that Moab is laid waste.


Woe to you, O Moab! The people of Chemosh are undone, for your sons have been taken captive, and your daughters into captivity.


“Give wings to Moab, for she would fly away; her cities shall become a desolation, with no inhabitant in them.
