The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord, but the prayer of the upright is acceptable to him.


The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination; how much more when he brings it with evil intent.


Haughty eyes and a proud heart, the lamp of the wicked, are sin.


If one turns away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer is an abomination.


“He who slaughters an ox is like one who kills a man; he who sacrifices a lamb, like one who breaks a dog’s neck; he who presents a grain offering, like one who offers pig’s blood; he who makes a memorial offering of frankincense, like one who blesses an idol. These have chosen their own ways, and their soul delights in their abominations;


They shall not pour drink offerings of wine to the Lord, and their sacrifices shall not please him. It shall be like mourners’ bread to them; all who eat of it shall be defiled; for their bread shall be for their hunger only; it shall not come to the house of the Lord.


To the pure, all things are pure, but to the defiled and unbelieving, nothing is pure; but both their minds and their consciences are defiled.


save others by snatching them out of the fire; to others show mercy with fear, hating even the garment stained by the flesh.
