By this you shall be tested: by the life of Pharaoh, you shall not go from this place unless your youngest brother comes here.


and bring your youngest brother to me. So your words will be verified, and you shall not die.” And they did so.


And he lifted up his eyes and saw his brother Benjamin, his mother’s son, and said, “Is this your youngest brother, of whom you spoke to me? God be gracious to you, my son!”


We said to my lord, ‘The boy cannot leave his father, for if he should leave his father, his father would die.’


I will set my eyes on them for good, and I will bring them back to this land. I will build them up, and not tear them down; I will plant them, and not pluck them up.


Now, behold, I release you today from the chains on your hands. If it seems good to you to come with me to Babylon, come, and I will look after you well, but if it seems wrong to you to come with me to Babylon, do not come. See, the whole land is before you; go wherever you think it good and right to go.


And if they go into captivity before their enemies, there I will command the sword, and it shall kill them; and I will fix my eyes upon them for evil and not for good.”
