“Mark this, then, you who forget God, lest I tear you apart, and there be none to deliver!


lest like a lion they tear my soul apart, rending it in pieces, with none to deliver.


who eat the flesh of my people, and flay their skin from off them, and break their bones in pieces and chop them up like meat in a pot, like flesh in a cauldron.


As Paul was about to be brought into the barracks, he said to the tribune, “May I say something to you?” And he said, “Do you know Greek?


the tribune ordered him to be brought into the barracks, saying that he should be examined by flogging, to find out why they were shouting against him like this.


Now the son of Paul’s sister heard of their ambush, so he went and entered the barracks and told Paul.


This man was seized by the Jews and was about to be killed by them when I came upon them with the soldiers and rescued him, having learned that he was a Roman citizen.


And desiring to know the charge for which they were accusing him, I brought him down to their council.


And on the next day they returned to the barracks, letting the horsemen go on with him.


on frequent journeys, in danger from rivers, danger from robbers, danger from my own people, danger from Gentiles, danger in the city, danger in the wilderness, danger at sea, danger from false brothers;


Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger;


But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast and be false to the truth.
