And when you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the balsam trees, then rouse yourself, for then the Lord has gone out before you to strike down the army of the Philistines.”


Terrors frighten him on every side, and chase him at his heels.


There they are in great terror, for God is with the generation of the righteous.


Now Mount Sinai was wrapped in smoke because the Lord had descended on it in fire. The smoke of it went up like the smoke of a kiln, and the whole mountain trembled greatly.


Then the king’s color changed, and his thoughts alarmed him; his limbs gave way, and his knees knocked together.


And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not alarmed, for this must take place, but the end is not yet.

another company turned toward Beth-horon; and another company turned toward the border that looks down on the Valley of Zeboim toward the wilderness.


And the garrison of the Philistines went out to the pass of Michmash.


And that first strike, which Jonathan and his armor-bearer made, killed about twenty men within as it were half a furrow’s length in an acre of land.


And the watchmen of Saul in Gibeah of Benjamin looked, and behold, the multitude was dispersing here and there.


As Samuel was offering up the burnt offering, the Philistines drew near to attack Israel. But the Lord thundered with a mighty sound that day against the Philistines and threw them into confusion, and they were defeated before Israel.
