Then God remembered Rachel, and God listened to her and opened her womb.


Now Adam knew Eve his wife, and she conceived and bore Cain, saying, “I have gotten a man with the help of the Lord.”


But God remembered Noah and all the beasts and all the livestock that were with him in the ark. And God made a wind blow over the earth, and the waters subsided.


But the woman conceived, and she bore a son about that time the following spring, as Elisha had said to her.


I rise before dawn and cry for help; I hope in your words.

Then Samuel went to Ramah, and Saul went up to his house in Gibeah of Saul.


Then Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the midst of his brothers. And the Spirit of the Lord rushed upon David from that day forward. And Samuel rose up and went to Ramah.


Now David fled and escaped, and he came to Samuel at Ramah and told him all that Saul had done to him. And he and Samuel went and lived at Naioth.


Then Elkanah went home to Ramah. And the boy was ministering to the Lord in the presence of Eli the priest.


Now Samuel died. And all Israel assembled and mourned for him, and they buried him in his house at Ramah. Then David rose and went down to the wilderness of Paran.


Then he would return to Ramah, for his home was there, and there also he judged Israel. And he built there an altar to the Lord.


Then all the elders of Israel gathered together and came to Samuel at Ramah


Then at the break of dawn Samuel called to Saul on the roof, “Up, that I may send you on your way.” So Saul arose, and both he and Samuel went out into the street.
