12 And as soon as I have gone from you, the Spirit of the Lord will carry you I know not where. And so, when I come and tell Ahab and he cannot find you, he will kill me, although I your servant have feared the Lord from my youth.

And now you say, ‘Go, tell your lord, “Behold, Elijah is here.”’


And as they still went on and talked, behold, chariots of fire and horses of fire separated the two of them. And Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.


And they said to him, “Behold now, there are with your servants fifty strong men. Please let them go and seek your master. It may be that the Spirit of the Lord has caught him up and cast him upon some mountain or into some valley.” And he said, “You shall not send.”


For in the eighth year of his reign, while he was yet a boy, he began to seek the God of David his father, and in the twelfth year he began to purge Judah and Jerusalem of the high places, the Asherim, and the carved and the metal images.


For you, O Lord, are my hope, my trust, O Lord, from my youth.


The fear of the Lord is hatred of evil. Pride and arrogance and the way of evil and perverted speech I hate.


It is good that you should take hold of this, and from that withhold not your hand, for the one who fears God shall come out from both of them.

Samuel was ministering before the Lord, a boy clothed with a linen ephod.


Now the boy Samuel continued to grow both in stature and in favor with the Lord and also with man.
