“Now you, Solomon, if you live in front of me the same way your father David lived, and if you obey all I have commanded, and if you obey my laws and rules,


Why? To warn that person and to save\par his soul from the place of death {\cf2\super [74]} \par so that person can enjoy his life.\par


You lifted me out of the grave.\par You let me live.\par I did not have to stay with the dead people\par lying in the pit. {\cf2\super [181]} \par


The Lord lifted me out of the grave. {\cf2\super [246]} \par He lifted me from that muddy place. {\cf2\super [247]} \par He picked me up,\par put me on solid ground\par and kept my feet from slipping.\par


The Lord listens to poor, helpless people.\par The Lord still likes people in prison.\par


Then Moses held the bowls full of the blood from the sacrifices. [158] Moses threw that blood on the people. He said, “This blood shows that the Lord has made a special Agreement with you. The laws God gave you explain the Agreement.”


Many people will be gathered together.\par Some of them have been locked in the Pit.\par Some of them have been in prison. {\cf2\super [233]} \par But finally, after much time,\par they will be judged.\par


But look at the people.\par Other people have defeated them\par and have stolen things from them.\par All the young men are afraid.\par They are locked in the prisons.\par People have taken their money from them.\par And there is no person to save them.\par Other people took their money.\par And there was no person to say,\par “Give it back!”\par


You will open the eyes of the blind people,\par and they will be able to see.\par Many people are in prison;\par you will free those people.\par Many people live in darkness;\par you will lead them out of that prison.\par


You will tell the prisoners,\par ‘Come out of your prison!’\par You will tell the people that are in darkness,\par ‘Come out of the dark!’\par The people will eat while traveling.\par They will have food even on empty hills.\par


People in prison will soon be made free.\par Those people will not die and rot in prison.\par Those people will have enough food.\par


Your cities have been destroyed for many, many years. But new cities will be built, and the foundations of these cities will continue for many, many years. You will be called “The One Who Fixes Fences.” And you will be called, “The One Who Builds Roads and Houses.”


\{The Lord’s servant says,\} “The Lord my Master put his Spirit in me. God chose me to tell good news to poor people and to comfort sad people. God sent me to tell the captives that they are free and to tell the prisoners that they have been set free.


So those officials took Jeremiah and put him into Malkijah’s cistern. {\cf2\super [324]} (Malkijah was the king’s son.) That cistern was in the temple yard where the king’s guard stayed. Those officials used ropes to lower Jeremiah into the cistern. The cistern didn’t have any water in it, but only mud. And Jeremiah sank down into the mud.


King, you were lying there on your bed. And you began thinking about things that will happen in the future. God can tell people about secret things—and he showed you what will happen in the future.


This wine is my blood. My blood (death) begins the new agreement \{from God to his people\}. This blood is given for many people to forgive their sins.


Then Jesus said, “This wine is my blood. My blood (death) begins the new agreement \{from God to his people\}. This blood is given for many people.


He called, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me! Send Lazarus to me so that he can dip his finger in water and cool my tongue. I am suffering in this fire!’


In the same way, after supper, Jesus took the cup of wine and said, “This wine shows the new agreement \{from God to his people\}. This new agreement begins with my blood (death) that I am giving for you.” {\cf2\super [350]}


“The Spirit of the Lord (God) has come to me.\par God chose me to tell good news to people\par that are poor.\par God sent me to tell people who are\par prisoners that they are free,\par and to tell the blind people\par that they can see again.\par God sent me to free the weak people\par from their suffering\par


In the same way, after they ate, Jesus took the cup of wine. Jesus said, “This wine shows the new agreement \{from God to his people\}. This new agreement begins with my blood (death). When you drink this, do it to remember me.”


But you, Moses, stand here near me. I will tell you all the commands, laws, and rules that you must teach them. They must do these things in the land that I am giving them to live in.’


If the law could make people perfect, then those sacrifices would have already stopped. Those people would already be clean \{from their sins\}. And they would not still feel guilty for their sins. \{But the law cannot do that.\}


So what do you think should be done to a person who shows his hate for the Son of God? Surely that person should have a much worse punishment. Yes, that person should have a worse punishment for not showing respect for the blood (Jesus’ death) that began the new agreement. {\cf2\super [137]} That blood once made that person holy. And that person should have a worse punishment for showing his hate against the Spirit {\cf2\super [138]} of God’s grace (kindness).


The angel threw the snake into the bottomless pit and closed it. The angel locked it over the snake. The angel did this so that the snake could not trick the people of the earth until the 1,000 years were ended. After 1,000 years the snake must be made free for a short time.
