But if a widow has children or grandchildren, the first thing they need to learn is this: to show respect for their own family \{by helping their parents\}. When they do this, they will be repaying their parents or grandparents. That pleases God.


At lunch time, Boaz told Ruth, “Come here! Eat some of our bread. Here, dip your bread in our vinegar.”


Ruth worked in the fields until evening. Then she separated the grain from the chaff. [11] There was about 1/2 bushel [12] of barley.
